What best compliments my vortech??
Hey guys, just purchased a vortech v-9 aftercooled, but haven't received it yet and was wondering what would work best with this supercharger besides lt headers since i live in CA. I know you guys are all going to say lt headers but since i am street legal with the vortech i thought i might as well keep it that way, so is there anything else i should do to compliment the vortech? I already purchased a new clutch,SFCs and a 12 bolt or 9 inch rear is next in line, havent decided which one yet. Thanks for the help.

Sticky at the top of the forced induction page will point you in the right direction.

Living in CA I feel your pain.....
other than the Procharger I installed on my GTO, the biggest gain was a cam change. It totally changed the whole midrange of the motor. With a Centrifugal blower, I highly recommend getting a custom ground cam suited to your goals. However there are several off the shelf grinds that are showing nice gains as well.
to remain CARB compliant I went with the JBA shorties, while their is alot of trash talking about shorties, I can attest to the fact they flow better than stock pipes. With nothing other than a header change I lost 2 psi of boost, proving a better flow! Of course they are not as good as LT's, just better than the OEM's......and still CARB legal.

thanks a lot, but i am not looking to surpass the 500rwhp mark, so i wouldn't have to rebuild the bottom end but my only problem with the shorties is that i will be spending that money for a little gain and maybe there is something else i could invest my money into and get a similar gain, but then again maybe not, hahaha thanks for the advice

I was running a 2.65 pulley with my stocker I lost it due to a tunning issue running out of fuel as most do. 2.75 pulley will get you to the 460-480 rwhp level with a good tune and don't worry about not having headers just make sure you have a good cat back and it will make close to what I have told you.

I made 575 rwhp with the stock bottome end and the 2.65 pulley I made 601rwhp with the 2.5 on a built 346/7 Heads,Cam and blower.
