need timing help ASAP!! ok what kind of timing shoudl i be running at in this car?? its stock engine with lifters, springs, and rockers, LT1 car, running at about 7PSI, there is a tunning adjuster and my dumb *** friend started messing with it last night and dont remember where it was set at. it was back firing all over the place and only ran smooth at high RMP's and hated 5th and 6th gear
its a crane timier also, its a a dial, starts on the left at 0* and turns to 20*

Where is it set at now??? Is this an LT1 car??? Reason I ask because in your sig it says 98 LS1... It's most likely retarded like a mother and loading up with fuel which is causing it to backfire... What I would do it try to adjust it in increments and see how it acts...
