Default Cobalt SS MAP sensor?

Iam almost done with the Hiflo install, so now Iam looking for a tuner. I think I found one here, but he wanted me to replace my MAP sensor for a bar2 sensor found on the Cobalt SS/Ion. I never heard of that, especially since I had a tuned using my stock MAP sensor b4. Anyone heard or done this?

I have heard of this. I was told by a tuner to do the same thing when I am ready to get my car tuned. It makes it easier for them to tune and is safer. because a stock MAP will not register boost but the cobalt MAP will.

Its actually a 2.5BAR and if you look at this thread it lists most of the used MAP sensors. https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/310536-2-bar-map-sensor.html

I'm getting mine tuned wednesday with the 2.5bar map sensor using HP tuners you just have to cut off the mounting tabs on the right side to fit in the stock location. Theres a few pictures floating around here just search for 12580698. I expecting good results, should be able to hold a nice 11.5:1 A/F at WOT

#12580698 is a 2.0 bar map sensor. It is the BAP sensor for the Cobalt SS / Saturn Ion. They use a separate MAP sensor that is 2.5bar but has an integrated IAT sensor. That's why it gets confused with being a 2.5bar when it's only a 2.0 bar sensor.
