Default HELP !!!! HELP !!!! Gear info

Car is an M6
28" tire
3800lbs with me in it
close to 700rwhp
7200 rpm red line
i am thinking 3:73

the 681 was @6600rpm on the dyno and you can see it's still going north, i was thinking of trying to pull it to 7000rpm

i think the car should go close to 140mpr in the 1/4

what would be right gear to put in the car for the track....

thanks

nput Parameters Are the Following:

* Top Speed MPH = 140
* Tire Diameter (Inches) = 28.00
* Peak Horsepower RPM = 6500

Computation Results:
# Computed Best Differential Ratio is 3.87 to 1
# Computed Maximum Differential Ratio is 4.33 to 1

would this be right

honestly a 4.10 would get you to 135 and some room to grow to 140 in the future with more power.

700RWHP should get you around 135 in the 1/4 and with a 4.10 you would hit 135 around 6600 and 140 around 6900. Obviously these are only estimates there are no guarantees.

I used this spreadsheet for an estimated MPH http://www.forcedinductions.com/etcalculator.htm but every car is different so its just a estimate.

Well, since the software I wrote uses your true dyno graph as the input, a dyno graph would help out tremendously, but taking a guess at a general graph for 681rwhp @ 6900rpm & 590ft-lbs @ 5000rpm I got these results. This is all assuming near perfect traction, standard elevation/temp, and no wind, slicks with 4% tire growth, and good shifting, etc.

3.73's: 10.15 @ 137.24 / 5966 rpm / 4th gear
4.10's: 10.10 @ 139.13 / 6645 rpm / 4th gear

Oh ya, also assuming the dyno was on a dynojet.

Id say 3.73's man....... better of both. Easier on the street still and with a 28" tall Tire @ 7K RPM's you can run up to 150MPH in the 1/4......
The weight of your car is hurting your ET... oe will hurt it when ya hit the track.....

3.73 or 3.90 would be my pic (if 3.90 is available)

Give yourself some room to grow like Kyle said... you may want to up the boost or add a small shot later.
