I'm in the same boat, 402-404 with a big turbo and glide. I can't decide between heads, I'd really like to get one with a .750+ deck.

Don, id love to see what you can do with some L92 stuff since a 4.03" bore is needed...... Iron block.... Buy the heads and the intake TB for $1500 from GMPP and add double springs and show people what that can do at the same time.....

Stock PCM with 3 bar??? or BS3??

I like the Glide with a 9" and 3.50 gear and what ever tire u decide.......
It will be stock PCM. I'll probly play with a 2 bar then switch to 3 bar.I like testing. I know 950rwhp can be made on a 2 bar 408ci setup.Might see what that will run first.Should go low 9's,high 8's easilly enough.(depending on weight ect). Then add some boost. I have time and have no problem going to track rentals

The car will have a powerglide, transbrake setup. Right now the rear has 3.73's(because it was suppose to be Procharged) which I'll try.I know my car will take 29" tires which might help. Also it will be running DR's.

I'd like to see what a cheaper setup can do.I've seen way too many high $$ setup's and the customers not happy. Whats the worst that can happen? Heads don't work? No big deal. I fully expect to build 2 shortblocks so there is no downtime when they pop.

I love the answers here

It looks like a 408ci with a 91.5mm setup for now.I'm sure that will easilly hit low 8's and possibly faster.

I think it will look good with truck manifolds

I like the 408 with twins, but I am slowly buying into the shorter stroke for boost idea//// I have the 408 with twins, and if I had to do it again, it would be a ls2 bored, with stock stroke and a big single...far easier in my eyes... but those ls2's cost too much!

How do you have all this free time???? LOL

370 iron with stock 317 heads with springs...ls6 intake and a 91mm. If you end up popping the shortblock, you may damage the heads/crank so it would be nice if they were "disposable". Then you can go back with shortblock #2....more cubes.....l92 p/p (a couple of cnc programs should be out by then) l76 intake. First motor is a little cheaper and enuff power to get the car shook down. Then you can progress to new motor and more power

on the cheap gets my vote... stock crank 370 motor w/ the truck manifolds, l92 heads and intake.

holy ****, that's so affordable even *I* might be able to swing it. ... wait, but that's not including the 91.5 turbo. lol
