Default Where to buy a vband for a GT47 compressor

My GT47 has a v-band outlet on the compressor. Are there any places to buy a flange and v-band that works, or do I just get a 3.5" aluminum v-band kit and use 1/2 of it

I found a source for the 5" turbine outlet, but haven't found one for the compressor yet

Got mine from precision turbo, but you can get em from atpturbo. ATP sells a real nice flange that has an extension to slip a silicone connector over it.

I'm not going to use any silicone couplers, except for at the TB interface

Problem I have is I can get a whole aluminum v-band kit (2 flanges and band) for 53.00
(or can order flanges for $22 and the band for $11)

That thing ATP sells (just one flange and band) is $69.00

Does a standard 3.5" vband flange work or is there something special about the GT42/47 that requires a different flange?

The one from ATP and the one from precision(the one I have) both have a locating flange(inner, slips into the compressor housing) and are O- ringed, so they are different than a standard 3.5 V band. Will a regular V band flange work, probably but not too sure.

wolfe's bands are intended to connect 2 pipes it appears. I'm pretty sure frcefed is correct, I recall seeing a locating flange on the compressor outlet which most v-bands dont have a provision for. Better safe than sorry

Wolfe does have some nice 3.5" to 4" v-bands which I will use for my IC connections (I'm running 3.5" piping and the IC I have has 4" outputs)

Do you actually know anything about your setup other than it has a GT47-88 turbo

I ordered the ATP kit. Shipped out the same day too

We'll see how it looks when it arrives

I bought 90% of the parts, and they are fabbed it up, much like you are having your friend fab up your car. I have pics on www.psj.ls1tech.com, and can take more if you are interested. Brian M. from Precision Turbo has also been helpful with with questions about the GT47-88 in competition and it's max power potential.

He's doing most of the welding. I'm there for every step during the fab process thank you very much

My setup is quite different in positioning, especially since I opted to go with custom headers in lieu of manifolds. I have most everything either in hand or identified, this was one part that I wasn't 100% sure on...

All jabs aside, Speed Inc. sources parts froma lot of companies, so unless one was a ton cheaper and they it would work they most likely got it from Precision Turbo, since that's where the turbo came from.

I'm going v-bands on everything including the throttlebody I think. Good ol eBay seems to have a large selection. Wolf Racecraft also have some I seen earlier.

the precision part is over 100 bux

ATP's part is much less....I'm trying to save a few bucks here and there....it adds up over the gazillion parts needed

I thought aobut doing the TB too, but damaging a TB is kinda scary, and if your OD isn't 3.5 or 4.0", adapting to it could be difficult.

decided to put on the TB too. a 4" v-band interfaces with the TPIS 90mm pretty good

That ATP kit is pretty nice
