STS oval intake tube?

STS oval intake tube? I'm looking into a STS system but am worried about the ground clearance and I don't want to lose my drivers side SFC. The intake tubing from STS is 2.25" ( I think) . If I was to use 2.5" oval tubing ( height of 1.5"- 1.75") do you think I would run into restiction problems from necking down?
