2.5" pipe aluminized steel exhaust pipe? If so, its never going to last for two reasons.

1. that manifold is stainless steel that you welded it to, Stainless steel an mild steel grow at different rates.
2. If its ehxaust tubing, it is way to thin to handle the heat cycles and stresses.

Just my opinion, hope it works for you.

Why are headers .063 and .049 thick. that manifold will last longer than the gaskets will. as far as SS and mild steel growing at different rates, that would only be relivate on something thicker than .125. Also he used a wire feed welder as aposed to stick. wire feed welds tend to be fairly flexible (yeild) which will take up any expantion rate differances.

Well first off, Turbo piping gets MUCH hotter than most NA applications. Its not uncommon for the hot side piping to get almost cherry just after a dyno pull, much less a drag strip or street race.

That extra heat combined with the growth rates and then factor in the dissimilar metals and that the MIG wire is most likly the wrong filler material for stainless steel... There are quite a few problems here.

Just an update......

I've got everything done except for finishing up the exhaust and having the car tuned....Just installed my Racetronix pump and harness tonight..Everything seems to be working good.
