383 stroker or Intercooler...
383 stroker or Intercooler... Just had a forged 347 built and the cam bearing went bad so I had to pull it.
Now I'm debating on building it back as a 383 stroker motor to use with my 67mm sts kit. I have seen a lot of people saying the 67 wont be able to handle that however...
my goals are high 10's and traps around 125+
If I do my stroker I will be a while before I can get the intercooler but I have to decide on the motor now. The thing is do I need a bigger motor since I can just up the boost and use the money in better places.

well you will need that intercooler to put more boost in that motor,after 8 pounds they say you need an intercooler. also stroking the motor will cost more than 800 bucks for an intercooler, if you do your own work you can make an intercooler for about half that 800 bucks, say that trt charges. EPP did get 700 hp out of a 383 67mm turbo sts a little while back,Id say build the motor to 383 keep the turbo and run that and make your own intercooler. then eventually see the turbo and upgrade to a 76mm.
