any body got any input on the xs power turbos or are they **** too? and as for heads, springs, tuner i have all that **** already. and i not looking to build some crazy fast drag car right now i just want to build a small boost street car so i dont need to dump an *** ton of money in my drivetrain yea the rear end will eventually break just depend on how hard you beat on it and there are some 450hp street cars out there will the factory rear still. and yes i will need new fuel injectors i can get them for about 300 bux and my tune is about 150. so before yall go sayin it cant be done for under what you paid some one to build it cant if you diy and dont get the mark up.

If you look up most of the DIY kits they always have TONS of problems! Trust me! I was in the same boat as you....if you want a cheap kit...go with STS....they are proven and you cant beat the price...you can find used kits all over for $2500!

Just because you have things that dosent mean you dont add them into the cost of the kit it just means you broke up the payment in to managable parts this is a good idea but the cost of the kit is all the parts added together.

well then when i say budget i mean just the turbo parts: turbo bov wg manifolds and piping.

on another topic IF i went twin could 2 16g or 20g turbo be enough to achieve me objective? simple yes or no if no how small of turbo(s) could i run. i know the incon tt kit runs like t2528 but not sure how small those are.

I can be done you can buy all the parts for under $3000 uncluding all supporting mods....is it worth it? NO this includes you doing all the installs....pipe routing...oil lines...tuning etc. etc....if your good at all that stuff go for it....people have done it before they now see its not worth all the effort and troubles..

You will have TONS or troubles and headaches! Why not buy an STS kit have everything you need already and be done. You said yourself you have $4000 to spend....buy a used kit and still have $1000-1500 left over!

Little things add up quick! like clamps and hoses...trust me....ask anyone...and they will tell you they spent ALOT more than they expected!!

oh and a twin setup to be safe and reliable I would be looking into spending about $5000-$8000

no i dont have 4gs to throw down thats why im building one. im 20 almost 21 if i buy the peace over the next few months i can put it together but i cant just spend 4 grand at one time, to you that may sound stupid but i dont have and *** ton of money to blow. im simpling asking if the turbos will support or not. or how small i can go i dont have a big power goal right now just a simple diy to say i built the sob. i understand what your saying that its easier to do it and buy a kit but its no fun.

To be totally honest with you it will be cheaper and safer to go nitrous....just some food for thought...I would never do a turbo setup unless I had the cash ready to be breaking things...ESPECIALLY if this is your only car!

If I was your I would save the money for an STS kit if you have your mind set on a turbo...cause in my opinion if you go cheap you will end up spending more money than you would if you just bought a kit to begin with..

If you plan on doing a single I would go T67 with what you have in mind...IMO the T60 seems to be a little small for our motors...but some have had good success with them...

Turbos: Garrett, Turbonetics, Precision those are some good companys that I would go with.

im looking to run like 5lbs of boost
I'm thinking the hard part is the manifolds how do you intead on making them?

I built a 84 300zx out of a strange pile of parts injectors for a Mercedes, air flow meter from a 93 cobra, fuel pump from a 90 300zxTT, spearco IC, garret/actuater wastegate T3/T4, HKS BOV,electronic boost and waste gate controller other little stuff.

the motor is 3 litre the T3/T4 made it a very stronge car 16PSI pump gas =360RWHP, 22PSI 105 octane = 450RWHP both on cool days.

That being said two T3/T4 s would provide plently of boost for a 5.7 litre motor. and being small will spool very quick and a good electronic boost controller will make them spool even quicker.

Search the rice sites and get a good brand name turbo.
the 300zx sites will be good for a regular T3 then add a T4 compressor it may take time to accumulate all nessary parts.
I agree buying a complete kit is easy but closetly takes out the fun of it and you look like everyone else.

Good luck and have fun w/ the friends that are helping.

6.0l truck manifolds turned backwards, for the turbos i was think about using mitsubishi turbos like 20g's or 16g's but one of my buddys works on sabbs and said i should try theyre garretts like gt2835's which i believe are what the incon kit uses and those have produce almost 600hp

SSautochrome and xspower is the same, I though have ran the t70 turbos they have and never had a problem nor some of the folks around here, They havent either, But I dont have 10grand in my engine so I didnt care to run a cheaper turbo, I am putting another one on my 98 z28, I had two on my truck with no probs, about 10,000miles on them then sold them to go to a big single turbo setup on it, I use there 46mm polished wastegate and the 50mm polished bov, Never had any problems with them. I do know there smaller turbos are junk though I personally have seen them fall apart. Good luck man and I will probably get flamed for this,
