LS2 402 with ATI D1SC
Will be replacing my 347 h/c motor with an ATI D1SC that currently puts out 493 rwhp with 8lbs of boost with a new motor and fuel system.
I want the install to be as simple as possible without need to change pulleys etc. or up the boost. Goal is just 600 rwhp.
I'm thinking I could swap in either a TSP or SDCP LS2 402 blower motor and blower cam and not change anything else that I have and easily make 600 rwhp.
I know I will have to upgrade the fuel system with a 600 rwhp system with 60 lbs mototrons. I currrently have 42lbs with a Racetronix P&P kit. I will also be replacing the ATI intercoolers with either a custom FMIC kit or the FMIC from EPP.
Car is a 1998 Z28 built from bumper to bumper with all of the other high performamce goodies to easily handle 600 rwhp (BeCool,Kooks, PerformBuilt LVL3,Yank PY3400 Tq,PSTdriveshaft, Moser 12 bolt, Magnaflow cats, and all BMR and SPohn suspension parts).
After the engine replacement the car will be essentially new drivetrain wise from bumper to bumper.
I did a search but 'ls2 402' search only returns 2 pages.
I have priced iron block 408's too but since prices are about the same and my goal is only 600 I think the 402 is the way to go.
Thoughts or suggestions from anyone....

Heads - now. Patriot LQ9 Stage II heads but was planning on swapping in a long block with whatever heads TSP or SDCP suggest when they build the long block to meet my goal of 600 rwhp.

I have thought about that but current stock engine has 80,000 and is a 98 plus it's been overheated twice on dynos + a few times after the ATI install. Still overheats idling with the AC on - so it's parked waiting for a new heart.
So rather than throw more money at it my thoughts are to start over and do it right with a new short or long block.
