What type of testing do they do there, Is ia a tail pipe or pcm scan?

HUNTER02SS Mar 14, 2007 11:10 PM

If it just a pcm scan then as long as you do not have any code's or the ses light is on you should be fine.

It consists of a visual and a tailpipe.

Make a friend at the local Jiffy Lube, and buy him some beer. That's how I pass it.

Not sure how it is in Colorado but here in upstate NY they do a PCM scan the looks for MIL light and looks for run completion of emissions "monitors". NY allows a certain amount of monitors not to have run depending on the year of the car. These things take drive time and certain conditions to be met before they will be run by the PCM and passed. So, if you have reset the PCM with a scan tool or done a battery disconnect or a download the emissions computer will fail your car.

where in CO are you?
Most do the full load dyno test, with the PCM connected, along with visual.

Some counties in Colorado no longer require emissions testing.
