Default some simple to answer DIY questions

ok i will start with the things that have me wondering a bit.

A. are teh 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0 manifolds all the same? i checked the FAQ and this was teh first sign of them all being the same so i will assume that they will here.

B. A t70 turbo will probably give me more power than my stock longblock wants, right? hehe

C. when removing the AC condenser up front, and the fans to a pusher setup, will i be able to leave the radiator in its stock location with soem kind of mount for it on top.

D. this can be tuned well with the MAF in place by a good tuner, right?

ok, i think that will get me started for now.

i am going to start putting the pieces together for this kit starting today and i hope to have them all by may or june.

i am going to start with the biggest things and move along from there...

thinking this for my main parts.

Master power T70 turbo.
Tial 44mm Wastegate
Tial 50mm BOV(or something similar)
OBXtype FMIC
i will probably buy one of those aluminum ebay intercooler pipe kits(are these pipes high enough quality?)
mild 2.5inch piping already bought this and the t4 flange and made the crossover pipe already)

i think i am going to fab the exhaust of the turbo to face the Passenger side and then have the Downpipe(prob 3.5inch) shoot right down through where the AC is at currently)

i thought about buying a kit, but i have faith in my abilities, i have the tools, i am a cheapass, and i dont care about AC.

i have wanted to do this before, but things got in the way, like opening my own business, i wanted a bike, ec. well business is takign off, i own my bike, and i considered the new Z06 but that just doesnt seem as smart as reinvesting, and this is fairly inexpensive, wish me luck

A. yes
B. probably
C. Probably, just depends how you mount your turbo, but id say yes.
D. Yes, the Maf should be good to about 62lbs/min or around 550-600rwhp before you have to incorperate tricks to it.

I'm running all the same parts as you but with a rear mount. I made good numbers and it will be interesting to compare your dyno and mine when finished. I would think about SD tuning it. It s not much mores than getting it dyno-tuned anyway. Parts wise its like $50.00. Also Go with th 60lbs injectors I'm running 42 SVO's and am at 87& DC. The racetronix pump shoul get you there but you may need a little more

yeah i sold my efi live that i had a SD tune on for the cam, that i also no longer have

camaro is pretty much back to stock now except for full exhaust and lid. i should change my sig. i will hopefully have the turbo WG and BOV ordered this week. prob the Intercooler and piping as well.

ehh i might just get it all...haha

but we will see.. i will shop around for the best local turner, maybe speed inc but i will accept all input.

ill let you know how it goes, if i can get away with just a pump and maybe a boostapump or something that would be amazing, it would be nice to not have to install a whole new fuel system as i already have speed inc rails because i ruined my stockers.

we will see...

Im planning on putting a Master power t70 on a 3.8 v6 with about 5-10 # boost. I really don't think it will be too much for your car if thats what your asking I know of at least 3-4 other 6 banger camaros using them as well.

nah def not too much, i am saying that the T70 will probably be able to really push the limits of what i feel is safe on a stock shortblock... which is why i am not jumping right into a T76gts or something of the like right now...mainly just my justification for using a 70 instead of a 76

you can do it. i am building about the same thing with a lq4 though. i know i need a bigger turbo but i have the mpt70 so i am going to use it for now. then upgrade later.

from what i can see though, imo do the fuel right the first time, so you never have to redo it.

ide stay away from the master power units...bearings failed on mine after 1200 miles, enough to make wheel to housing contact on one turbo...a few hundered more miles and the other one would have made contact as well...just an fyi

ok cool, thanks man.

yeah i guess i will allow my intercooler to determine my charge pipe sizing, but i figure the less piping and volume the lower my spool time will be, or is that negligible?

another thing i notice is most intercoolers have 3 in ins and outs...

so i guess i have some deciding to do, but i want to get it figured out and bought today.

i will try the garbage couplers for my 8#'s or so for now, and then if they suck i can always replace.

Thanks for the help again.
