I've built a number of fuel lines with Aeroquip hose and can't say I've noticed an odor, but I like the smell of fuel so who knows. I do know the Aeromotive hose is just different stuff compared to the Aeroquip AQP hose and it could be the culprit.

As 2001WS6Vert says teflon is great stuff and easy to use, I just hate the plated steel fittings.
I'm the opposite, I hate the smell of most fuel, especially pump gas. I have had some where you could run your hand over the line and it would be wet and those turned out to be the fittings. I used russel stuff most of the time, mainly because what the local hose/fitting guy stocked and they were the easiest fittings to use although probably not the strongest.. Its different in a 10,000 Sq ft auto shop and in your 3 garage attached to the house also I too. I can honestly say I have never got close and smelled a fuel hose on purpose

KP I figured you have a cologne made from C16 since you love drag racing and working on cars so much!

So does anybody make a good looking fitting for teflon? I like the black I have now and I would hate to have that 'industrial' look of crimp ons...

Mark - I like the smell of RACING gas... but this unleaded is a headache LOL. Maybe thats the solution, bet the computer would love that

Smelly lines fixed! I replaced all of them except the crossover in the back (because I was feeling lazy and did not want to remove the rails) with Aeroquip teflon and steel fittings. I used a fibergalss/foil insulation to wrap the return line to the back, don't need melted teflon. Sat all night last night and the garage was fresh and clean this morning! I recommend this - teflon is easier to work with than regular rubber braided. Yes, the fittings are not as pretty, but there are aluminum fittings available also.
