For $3500 do you think i should go with that or a speed inc or Texas speed motor?
Thats gotta be with custom pistons right? Mine was $2900 for those same parts, but that was with off the shelf Mahle -4cc pistons. With 6.0L heads and MLS gaskets, that puts the compression at about 9.45:1...

*edit: I didn't get those rings tho, I got the rings that came with the Mahle pistons...

Are you sure about that CR? I built the same set up -4cc mahle & AFR 72cc heads with mls gaskets. I figured it was ~9.1 to 1 but I'm not sure I figured it correctly

Off the shelf Mahle's standardly wont live in that 1000hp type range. They are a 4032 alloy... I would run a 2918 alloy

3.622 stroke, 3.903 bore, 6.125 rod, .006 out of the hole, 4cc dish, .052 compressed head gasket, 71.06cc head (GM rounds this off to 72, but it is actually 71.06)

do all the math for that, and SCR is 9.446, CID is 346.677, or 5.681 liters

Maybe this calculator is wrong I still get 9.1. If I go 71 cc heads it goes to 9.2 but I figure that AFR heads are true 72cc

I think I just figured out the difference in the 2. The link you posted uses a positive value for deck height. PianoProdigy's spreadsheet uses a negative value. There was a big debate about this, but it ended up being that the negative number is correct. So I wouldn't trust that link...
