Default Block?

Hey guys I am new to the FI and I have a question. I am about to start buying parts for my Turbo project for the WS6 and I just wanted some input on which block people in here think I should go with. First of all the setup is a Turbonetics T76 that will have a TH400 and 9" behind the block. The car is far from a daily driver just basically go out and have some fun on the streets when its nice but mainly a track car. I am hoping to get it to run some 9's with the help of maybe some nitrous if I have to. So the two blocks I have narrowed it down to is the LQ9 which a friend of mine can get me one from the local dealership for $700 or just going all out and buying the LSX. I want to do it right the first time so should I go with the LSX or save the extra cash for something else with this project and get the LQ9. Thanks in advance

a nice forged aluminum bluck can handle 1000rw at a max and yes those iron 6.0 blocks can handle some insane power like 1700-2000hp. however regardless of the block u will need to upgrade the pistons and rods and some head studs/bolts id just do studs and get it over with. the stock crank should be good to 1000rw as well just make sure to get it polished and the rotating assembly balanced

also if u get a 6.0 iron block id just bore it to 408ci or larger

i myself am doing a 347 aluminum block i only want 800-900rw at the very max

also that t76 turbo might be kinda small for a 6.0 (370)or 408 iron block. the T76 is perfect for a 347 (im running a gt42-76 its a 76 mm turbo but i got mine with a T6 exhuast housing) for ur application id run something in the 85-95mm range. most guys on here running the iron block will run an 88mm turbo also some nice 95 and 96mm turbos but those might be a little extremme specially if u plan to run 9s
