I don't think anyone is having issues. I had a PT88 with room to spare, but my fabricator is good.

The turbo is too small, but he still should make more power. We had a t-70 on a 402 with stock #317 heads and made 621 @8 psi through a th400 and 12 bolt.

you guys are telling him to go bigger turbo to get bigger #'s, and he is still on the stock heads! I don't think the bigger turbo is really going to gain him much with out changing those out, Right? Or am I wrong

I was going to go to it but I want to work some more issued out on my car first with spooling on the line.

If you want a cheap easy setup, get some 317 6.0 heads (stock is fine). It will lower the compression more, the lower the better really, I personally like 7.8:1 - 8.5:1. If you even think about worrying about losing power from lowering the comp i'm gonna smack you, take your 408 and install it in my car. Heads help, but that is not your issue, it's the turbo. Stock heads on a 408 is not a great combo, but i'd sooner put a better matched turbo on and worry about heads later.

You want really pathetic dyno numbers? My car made 470 uncorrected on a mustang dyno at 14psi through my th400. The result is in the sig, mid 10's in a heavier than stock car. I'm eventually going to do heads on my car in the future, but that is not something I'm worried about at this time due to the cost involved (new turbos are cheaper and easier to install and make more power).

I think the 408 cubic inches OUTFLOW the turbo into an area of high inefficiency... I don't think it will make 600 rwhp... On a 346 a T-70 will, but not on a 408... Not properly matched, IMO... Hell, even a 346 will outflow the T-70 around 600+ a little rwhp... I tried to push one (MPT-70) myself, but needed the T-76GTQ.

Motor's being choked by the turbo, IMO.

Kinda wrong... look at EPPs 400inch turbo car they did with stock heads and a big turbo... , may have even been an auto, I forget, but it made over 900. Of course it would do better with better heads, but 900rwhp on their MUSTANG dyno has got be close to pushing water around the heads... so why go bigger and as noted, a bigger turbo is cheaper than better heads.
