After seeing the pic of the 101mm, your 88 doesn't seems so big anymore, You must get 102mm! haha.

h aha i know man..... that BEAST is HUGE..

i prob wont go that bic...... my goal is only a 8 sec pass.....

No man its a SBC.....
Is your car an auto?

If so, want to give a noob, instruction on how to launch a car off the line? I'll only have a 3000 stall converter, but it's going to be higher than I'm used to. Is there any particular way to do it?

So why couldn't a sbc be a dart block, GMPP block, World Product block, or one of the many others aftermarket small blocks? There all still SBC's.

If you search around in the FI section we had a big topic about launching auto cars with a turbo recently. Basically footbrake to trip the beams and then sit on the tb to build boost. When the light goes green or when you have made enough boost(if your just trying to run a certain ET) let off the brake and hold on.

PS. I'm not exactly sober, BUT your car was BAD ***. Awesome car, much props to you. Thanks for the info. Is it a gradual left off, or a drastic off the brake and on the gas? What's TB stand for?

TB is trans brake. I assumed you were running one but maybe not. Basically you need to hold the footbrake and apply as much of the gas pedal as you can w/o pushing the car if you do not have a trans brake. Holding the brake and the gas allows you to build a small amount of boost and reduce the time it takes the turbo to spool up. How you apply the gas after the light goes green depends on your suspension, tires, etc.

There was more horsepower in the first three f-bodies I saw than all of the imports at an import get together a couple weeks back.

I'm tryin' to throw my hat into the ring to tip the scale even more in our favor, but I don't know what a measly 600 rwhp can do.

Yeah i agree with the above.....

If the suspension is setup up for the launch, then after your footbraking it smash the gas to the floor and let the converter stall to its stall speed.... suspension and tires(traction) are going to come into play alot....
Practice on the street to get used to it.... they try it next time your out at the track and see what the car reacts to the best...

Well, lets say I'm sitting on stock suspension. Then what do I do?

Thanks for the help guys. Make sure to invite me when the next big track meetup comes around, I always miss it because I never know.

I'm researching trans brakes and can only seem to find a trans brake switch for the 4l60e, is that all it is or is there something else that I'm going to need to acquire. EDIT: I found out that rossler is the only company right now that makes a trans brake for the 4l60e. Oh well. I wasn't too interested in it anyway.

PS. On topic, Kyle, was it just me or was every car from RPM sporting like a thousand horsepower?? They were all pretty rediculous.
