The 4.5" twin intercoolers are a great way (compromise) to go for those who do not want to cut up their front ends for a front mount intercooler. We have never documented how much cooler the front mount is over the 4.5" twin intercoolers, as the front mount install has always included adding more boost when we have done conversions. To date these have always been on forged internals going for a lot of boost. Bob

It fits, but its a tight one.

It has to be one of the quickest ways to pick up several pounds of boost! Bob

As you can see in your pic #2, it does push out the bumper slightly. But in the end its worth it. I saw at least another pound of boost.

Simple!!!! 5 minute install.

Just wanted to chime in a little with what i have seen on the twins. One cars i have seen with the 3.5's and meth did 711 to the tire with an F1C and 32 psi. It was a mod motor that ran out of ignition but the curve was defiantly on its way to over 800. So as for flow they can hang, cause that 32 psi was at the manifold.

We made 800 on an engine dyno with the coolers, that was with 12psi and at 5500, at that point, the plastic hat exploded...lol.

Weird... I just got mine in the mail yesterday. Haven't had a chance to install it yet tho. If the filter alone doesn't add any boost, then your restriction must be in the hat itself. If I don't gain any boost, then that is the next issue I am going to address...

Ed do you also already have the smaller K&N filter added on the bottom of the hat (instead of the BPV return) too ?

If not, it's a good way to get more air in there...

I have the box in the garage with the P/N#.

Yep, I installed one at the same time I added the larger filter.

Well, no one sells anything that will fit in there if you still have the A/C and radiator in the stock location. Thats what sucks You gotta fab something up special. Either move the radiator forward or remove the condenser or do something else to get a 90° elbow on the front of the head unit.

I was thinking of making a hat that would have two sides on it so I could run 2 filters off of it, but I'm not sure if that would remedy the situation or not. I don't know if the restriction is that narrow area between the radiator shroud and the head unit or what? I'm planning on installing my filter today. Hopefully I can find out if the filter alone worked for me, or if I am going to have to go through with plan B...

Well that sucks I don't plan on moving my radiator. I didn't see any increase in boost with the new filter.

I dont' think I have any belt slip, I am running the SDCE.

Do you think the screen in the MAF would be a restriction?

I highly doubt the MAF screen would restrict boost. How much boost are you making? And with what pulley sizes?

Took out the screen and was able to hit 11.5#
Not sure if it was the screen or not.
IAT's did get up pretty quick to 160* on only a 2nd gear run.

I would hate to see what they would be on a 1-3 gear run.
