Default Single Turbo and cats

For those that have a single turbo setup on your car, what did you do about your dual cats?? In Ca it will be illegal for me to remove one of my cats, and i was wondering if anyone that has this problem has done anything to get around this problem. Or has everyone that has gone this far just gotten rid of them completely? This isnt an option for me because i dont want to be afraid of the huge fine that can come with removing the cats.

Or should i just give up on it and stay with my idea for twin turbos???

All the single setups I have seen just get rid of the Cats. Even if you have dual Cats or single Cats they wont be CARB legal unless you get an exemption. This also goes for twin turbo setups. Even if you leave the cats in the exact same position as stock you have to get a exemption. The exemption requires testing and that of course requires cash. With the turbo though the emmission will most likely stay about the same or get slightly better. So its possible to get the exemption.

Yeah i already knew about the whole exemption thing, but i didnt think you could remove a cat, i thought they had to stay the same, but if you can get away with modifying it, the single turbo could still be an option for me

The Cats do have to stay the same position and number, etc. There are no turbo kits that have a CARB exemption for f-body, corvette or truck. As far as I know, no one is going to try to get one either.

I am hoping you will go with the centrifugal Procharger. Then we can get together and compare your Procharger SS with my SS with a Magnacharger (roots type) and see what all the fuss is about between centrifugals and roots type blowers

it will then pass the 'do you have a cat' y/n but its not in the factory position/number etc.
