Default Is This Really Worth It!!!

I can get a complete Powerdyne supercharger kit for my 99 ws6 ls1. Right now, I am running 13.4's at 103 mph. I want something that wont cost me a fortune, but will make a different in the 1/4 mile. I know powerdyne isnt the greatest, but I can get the COMPLETE kit with 800 miles on it for 1700 bucks. I plan on doing that and a vig 3600 torque converter. With 6-9 pounds of boost and with that torque converter, anyone know where I'll be compared to my 13.4? thanks for the help everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would not buy that kit sir. They put out very minimal horsepower gains and have been known to constantly need to be rebuilt. If I was you I would swap gears and the stall as well. Or do a head and cam combo from tsp that would yield you some real nice power and definetely get you into the low 12's for sure. Maybe lower with some sticky tires and the right driving.

All the above options are a very viable alternative. I agree, stay away from a Powerdyne! Bob

After working with ALOT Stangs over the past 9 years (where some chose to go with that s/c to only later bail from it to go another route), I would NEVER recommend a turd like a Powerdyne to anyone...Internal belts are the downfall of those things IMO. You'll pay more in rebuilds than you did for the kit, lol.

had one. not too bad but treat it like a mild starter kit into FI. dont expect mid 400s out of it. Belts arent too bad you can get a tensioner. The internal belt complaints only come into effect if you run more than 6psi. Personally I would get a cam instead. Theres plenty of cam only cars making 415rwhp+ and theyll put a hurt on a powerdyne car for the same price. Youll be spending more for guages and other stuff and likely north of $1k. If you can install yourself, then springs, pushrods, new oil pump (for your 99), and the cam plus tune will probably run you less than $1500
