Best stick/carb FI set-up??

Default Best stick/carb FI set-up??

Don't know much about the FI stuff. Thinking about giving it a shot, but have a few questions:

1. Car will be a stick - advanage to have supercharger or turbo or no difference?

2. Car will have a carb - Any advantage to either system with a carb set-up?


I know the turbo set-ups are probally more popular but I'm thinking a blower would be pretty cool, and if I'm thinking right they build boost much faster than having to spool a turbo up. Looking to make 900-1000 RWHP with a 400 CI hydralic set-up. If you had to do it over again what do you recomend?

I built a carb turbo setup a while back. Got the carb from CSU carbs and it worked great right out the box. We made anywhere from 480 hp at 3.5 psi on up to 920 hp at 18 psi without touching the carb. Plus, it's cheaper than injection by far.

Thanks for the reply. I guess everyone on here is running injected automatic's?

I'm thinking a blower will work better with a stick car....

Mike was that the 377 with the T76??? i think it was for a boat. that was one cracking engine!

Yea it was for an airboat used for alligator egg collection. Unfortunately, the owner ran it for one season without failures then got paranoid about reliability so he's pulling it off and saving it as a spare. He's building an all aluminum SB2.2 headed 420" SBC to replace it. I think (hope?) he's going to be dissappointed with the lack of power and expense of building.
