a guy on the vette forum was running two heat exchangers on his 3.3 whipple setup. they where oil coolers off of light planes!!! really thick cores of normal heat exchaners but i guess they have little to no room. looked really really good pieces of kit!

he said the setup work really good to!

Chris.

alright, I did some looking at some other coolers out there and I think the fluidyne 9/81 coolers will work better for me. Not only are they lighter, but they seem to be packaged a little better to fit where I want to fit them. So you guys think that I can get away with one of the fluidyne coolers and the cobra style heat exchanger or 2 fluidyne coolers and scrap the middle heat exchanger idea? Also, The more I read about the n-tercooler nitrous bar, the more I think it would be a waste so I think I'm just going to stick with a small shot at some point, since I've already got it setup on the car and all. (maybe 30-50 shot) Would I benefit from mounting say a 3 gallon ice tank in the back of the car and running 8AN lines to it from the heat exchanger and then back to the A/W intercooler or should I just stick with a 1 gallon tank where the battery used to be? What type of pump should I get to push the water if it's mounted in the back of the car? Sorry for all the drawn out writing. Here's a link to the fluidyne heat exchangers I was talking about. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/9-81-...spagenameZWDVW

If you run two heat exchangers make sure they are in parallel (split the flow prior to the coolers so that each gets the hottest coolant), not serial (flows through one then on to the other). You lose a lot of efficiency that way.

I went with 2 super heavy duty tranny coolers that are about the same size and thickness of the old incon air to air's. Should work pretty good. Also, running them in parallel, since I have 2 outputs and 2 inputs on the air to water intercooler. Everything is in the shop right now and should be done in a few months. I'll post up when it's finished.
