Default OFI update after some miles on the kit

No NEW track passes but just wanted to update my findings etc.
Power steering line is 1/4" from header and has not been any prob at all.
Msd plug wires are 100% fine ONCE i ditched those damn fiberglass boot protectors.
A/c works good now. I went back with stock rad/condenser and cut about half the core support standing the rad/cond up some. I didnt want to do that but Joel did nothing to remedy his a/c setup not working plus I am sitting here with his custom radiator that i cant use now.
I am still using the gasketed tr6 equivalent and that has worked well so far to 11psi. I may go one step cooler in the winter when i turn up the boost.
Alternator heat has been an issue. I had to wrap the dp where it goes by the alternator....on a pass when the dp gets so hot, it would overheat the alternator. If it does it one more time, i will relocate it up top i suppose.

Basically I am happy with the kit. its performance is everything I expected.
Best pass on low boost (11.6psi) has been 10.006 @ 139 =3940# raceweight
The s488 is a t6 turbo with a huge 1.32 ar exhaust. it spools way slower than the incons but is much more controllable. Boost comes on in first gear almost like a s/c. makes it a little easier to manage on the street. At the track i really like the top end flow of the big housing...very happy with that choice.
The i/c is your basic el cheapo ebay 31x12x4 (mine is 33x12x4) it does well with the intake temps...better than i expected.
I will switch to 3.08 gears from my 3.55s and post the results in prob late sept/early oct. I want to get my highway mileage better with the 408

nice Work Jerry!

My car is up and running as well with the OFI kit, got about 50 miles on it, and im battling trying to keep the coolant temps below 200... i know thats a hard thing to do with a front mount car... But ive been making progress with shrouding and making it draw air into the fans only instead of bypassing them etc...

Im at 7 psi and still on my initial tune cuz ive been more worried about it getting hot... but 7 psi, 16 degrees of timing and 11.4 AFR and a kind ofa slow spool it feels better than my 200 shot did already.

Sounds like fun Jerry. Looking forward to seeing what it will run with more boost.

PS, your old kit is going to come back to life over the next 2 weeks

yes sir!!! Chris I am ready to go work on that mileage

Bowtieman AWESOME!!

Baddls1ss....i had to extend my front chin spoiler to get adequate cooling. Not a fault of the kit but me having the i/c so low. Anything under 230 with the a/c on is great. What turbo did you get and on what size motor?

Yeah ,my intercooler only hangs down about 2.5 innches in front of the dam... i mounted it i as high as i could, anymore and id be into the hood latch haha But i think it just being there period negates the air dams function.

My car sits too low in the front to try and extended that anymore, id rip off the extension on the first parking lot entrance lol I do remember you telling me that though.

76GTS-H on a 347.

yes it does negate the spoiler which is why extending it worked. How is your spool up? Any numbers yet?
