Default No boost + lifters

So I notice when my car turns off my lifters all leak down. I suspect they might not ever even get all the way pumped up.

That would defiantly explain why i cant build boost and my car is so damn slow.

And I've noticed my oil pressure is lower than normal too..

What are the odds of having bad lifters? they are the older Comp "R" style.

The low oil pressure is most likely why the lifters are not pumping up. Check the small oil ring, I'll bet is has a cut in it. Bob

start up pressure is over 45, its only lower after it really warms up.

so its normal to not really be able to see which ones are up and down when the car is off? I seem to remember being able to see that when it was stock.

On a cold motor I see 50-60 psi on start up. The once warm 45-50 psi I use the Q oil 10w40 I also have the ls6 ported pump with the green spring in it.

Go look at a wrecking yard sbc or bbc look into the ports on the heads some will still have the valve open after years of sitting (fallowed by a rusty cylinder wall) I have like 4 sbc that came from yards and the intakes were pulled. the vales were open to the intake side on a few of the cylinders, they were very rusty. Could your rocker arms not be adjusted correct length and possiblly not really putting the correct "off lift" pressure in the lifter.
just for the record my car stock internals ls1 in the tucson 114* heat less than 20 psi at idle some times. my lifters still keep the valve open.

No they are set correct, 1/2 turn past tight fully adjustable rocker arms.

hmmmmmmm. cant belive the whole lifter batch would be bad. I have seen a lifter go bad on a high mile engine. once I saw i think like three on the same engine. So do all the valves do this ?
if not how many.

I've noticed a few will stay down, have not really done a lot of research on it yet.

It just occurred to me the other day that could be my whole problem not being able to build boost.
