Default Supercharger Theory Question

I understand that 65,000RPMs is the "sonic tip" speed for the Vortech V9 G-Trim, the speed at which the impeller is spinning at the speed of sound, beyond which it doesn't make any more power by moving air. This is the "absolute maximum" impeller speed. But what's the difference between the "Efficient Maximum" Impeller Speed and the "Absolute Maximum" Impeller Speed? If the "efficient max" is 60,000 and the "absolute maximum" is 65,000, then will you not make power between 60,000 and 65,000? If not then why are people spinning up to (and sometimes beyond) 60,000 and even beyond 65,000?(!!) Is this just sssspinning the blower uselessssly?

Default Re: Supercharger Theory Question

From my understanding of it, everything you said should be correct. People probably spin beyond it because the boost will probably come on a little sooner.
