I would like to remove my breathers and rubber grommets from my valve covers, and "tap" in an -10 fitting, so I can run a breather tank set up. Does any one make an adapter to do this WITHOUT welding to the valve cover? I have Speed Inc. billet AL covers. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.
You could try a bulkhead fitting with an o-ring and a LARGE npt end. They sell them in -10 size. Your only problem is gonna be the depth and width of the threads. I think the oil fill opening is like 1 1/4".
What I did on my drivers side was took a thick pcv grommet and installed it. Then I took a -10 fitting with an NPT end and threaded it into the grommet. It works perfectly. The rubber of the grommet seals and holds the fitting in perfectly. After that, ran a 90* -10 swivel fitting. I have zero leaks.
You could easily do this on the pass side.
