Default Hey guys... Quick FI question!

I just picked up a convertible z28, and went ahead and bought an STS kit from my buddy...

I was wondering is it beneficial to purchase the Intercooler Texas Rear Turbos makes, if I dont ever plan right now on running over 5-6 psi??

Thanks alot!

Looking forward to making some friends here!

IMO...yes, because you'll want more power down the road and you might as well make the investment now.

Double that on the intercooler. I got the TRT set up and ran that for awhile then decided to route the piping a little differently because I don't care for the piping running up the face of the motor close to the P/S pulley.

Without the cooler I saw IAT's in the 140's and 150's under 5-7psi. Now they are maybe 5-10 deg. above ambient air temp.

I did the install myself and as long as you have a helper, decent tools, and a pretty decent mechanical knowledge you should complete the install in a weekend.

Everything went smoothly but I had to make a trip to the exhaust shop to have the pipe with the flange to the turbo expanded so it would fit my 3" exhaust piping.

Besides that just follow the STS instructions and you'll be fine.

Plus check with the board if you have any questions!
