Default NEW BEST at the track with my D1-SC

The track was hooking pretty well, they resurfaced the strip and layed down some VHT, I was 60fting in the 1.7X range all night. I made four passes.
11.92@118 shakedown pass
11.91@115 tried the N2O in third but the car fell on its face
11.90@115 tried the N2O again, same results car fell on it face again
let the car sit for an hour, decided against using the N2O until we figure out whats happening. Maxing MAF out? Bad Ground? Who knows for now. Checked the tire pressure and set it for 16psi, did a decent burnout, shoulda been longer, stalled it to 2600rpm let it fly

11.76@117mph with a 1.76 60ft. Not bad for a car that runs at 5600ft above sea level, my old best was 11.81 with a 1.70 during the day, so the night racing looks like it will pay off.
Sorry for the shakey video action, my buddy is still getting the hang of taping.

How do you like your ET streets? I just bought the same set-up as you(tires).I had major tire spin with my combo on my nitto`s. N/A I could only muster 1.7 with 12.1 and I spun really bad off the line. I`m hoping with ET`s I will get some help. On spray (ran once) I got 2.1 with 11.7. They shut me down because of no cage! Got that fixed now. My race weight was 3855lb with me. Got to loose weight! Let me know, thanks!

BeardWS6, I am liking the ET's now that the track has some bite to it. I was disappointed with them in the beginning because they wouldn't hook at all, but that was the track prep or lack there of. I was running 16psi in them all night long, so they are paying off. I do have to do about an 8 second burnout to get them sticky at our track, that might be different at your track though. I got the boot for no cage too, they said keep it in the 12s or go home, so I went...no point in running slower. Now I need to cut the 60ft down to 1.5's or 1.4's and I'll really be flying.

Black LS1 T/A thanks man, its hard to get any respect on these boards because almost everyone is at or near sea level. We have to work hard to get what seems to be average times to the average LS1 enthusiast. I can't wait to see what you will do, once your tuning is all figured out.

Wow, man... I'm guessing an 11.76 up there has GOT to put you in the hi-10's here. You DEFINITELY have my respect.

I got the fuel situation worked out enough to try to get the boost back up to where I want it. It's been a bear trying to get a pulley. I wired Riechard Racing some money, and I STILL don't have the pulley. I know these guys can get busy, but it is depressing to not be able to count on the timetable these guys give you for sending a part. I just expect all things performance-related to take time.

SLP, however, broke the mold on that one.
(I better tell you why I got before telling you what I got. )

I was already on the edge cooling-wise with the standard ATI fan. But now, with the Iron Block, my temps get high enough to definitely rob my horsepower. Just tuning it (on hot days) I've noticed a drop in performance at the track compared to when I punch it on the highway (where velocity at highway speeds keeps the engine cooler, compared to sitting in staging lanes at the track.)

When it get's hot, I can turn the heat on full blast and drop 230 Autotap degree (210 by gauge) temps down to about 212 Autotap degrees (about 190 by gauge) in stop and go traffic on a hot day (and from about 210 Autotap / 190 gauge to about 192 Autotap / 170 gauge. So I know the thing can be cooled down.

I figured the easiest thing would be to swap the radiator while I figure out how to get another fan setup in there. So I ordered the SLP radiator (even though many people claimed it did nothing for their cooling situation.) I figure I will end up doing both and wanted to know for myself.

Well, SLP shipped it out the NEXT day and it was here a day earlier than the shipping I paid for. So I swapped the radiator out yesterday.

Since it is now cool and rainy,I can't testify to what difference it made, yet. But I can tell you the temp barely rose off the first 160 degree gauge mark after I topped the coolant off and let it idle for about 15 minutes (I would have tested it with AC, anyway, but I never refilled my AC since I swapped the motor out).

That gives me a good feeling about the radiator swap, but I will not be able to tell until next week when the weather is back up to near summertime temps again. It is supposed to rain every day this week except Tuesday, which is partly cloudy. So temps won't even reach the 80's for a while.

Still, I should know something. Even at 76 degrees (which we will have this Tuesday) I noticed hotter than normal temps. Since precip is 30% Thursday, I may try the track if the pulley comes in in time for me to swap it out and get some tuning in on dry periods.

If not, it looks like next week is my time... and possibly a dyno tune.

BlackLS1 I feel ya on the cooling issue, I use to run the PD kit back in the day and the way they had the fans set up the car would run hot constantly. I went with the FAL dual 12 inch fans(pn 240) from Jegs and they help some. I have the fans coming on at 170 in the programming which keeps the car reasonably cool, temps hover from 190-205 on the atap when driving around town, but if I get on it once or twice FORGET IT the car never comes back down until I throw the heater on full blast. FUN. I should stop being lazy and put the fans where they should be, behind the radiator in a pulling fashion, but I still have them setup the old Powerdyne way, infront of the A/C condensor, yes there is room to make them fit in there. If I put them where they should be the car should do fine temp wise. I guess thats next mondays project....Thanks Mike

PS no crap on the parts places, they move product too slow. I hate waiting on parts for more than a week lol, especially if they were paid right away.
