Default overheating issues =(

just finished dynoing my setup and i've been getting on it quite often. its about 90-100 degrees out and after i really romp on the car the coolant temp is hanging aroudn 210-230 degrees. The setup is a 98 camaro Z28 with my custom Crossover pipe setup- racetronix fuel pump setup/ 60 lb injectors/2bar SD. 14" electric slimfan + an additional 10% slim fan- 160 deg thermostat + 160 deg fan activation set through HP tuners.

8 psi- car makes 496 WHP 512 torque.

in traffic temp will hang out at 220 degrees.

with the AC on, the setup overheats to 240's no problem( 3/4 sweep on the thermo gauge)

any fixes or recommendations? thanks !

Are you sure the fans are coming on? Maybe wire in a manual switch and turn the fans on when you first fire the car. Also, is the air dam still on the car? Without this your temps will be higher as well. Hope this helps...

I am going through this right now. I am using a 16" Spal pusher and a 12" puller. The first thing I had t do was mod the core support and move the AC condenser far enough forward to place the fan directly on the face of the radiator. I also added a LT1 radiator. My computer is programmed for the 180 stat, but I was not getting fan turn close to that temp. I bypassed the factory wiring and installed a 180 probe and wiring kit. Also a manual switch. Watching a temp gauge all the time in not my idea of enjoying a drive.

Is the air damn still on the front of the car???? Are you sure the fans arent wired back wards?? if they are they will spin the opposite direction and do nothing for ya.
That a quick check and many have done it.

i had that problem in the beginning- wiring the fans wrong . However thats all fixed. my next move is to get an alum griffin radiator. great construction and the price beats everyone elses by far. im also thinking about laying down the intercooler parallel to the ground and welding on a scoop so the radiator can take on air " head on" but i dont know how bad it will be because of the air-dam if i should leave it cuz its more efficient or what.
