Talking F1 is on!

Just finished installing the F1 head unit Took it for a short drive around the block and all I got to say is Sounds like a pissed off F16 jet just waiting to go hunt a mig

I tried to take a video with my camera, but I am pretty sure the microphone on it is broken. The sound is way choppy, so the vid is worthless

Can't wait to get her tuned!

Do you have a new motor or are you going to run the F1 on your 347 for now, then rebuild bigger in the future?

Congrats. Was it easy to tilt the radiator forward along with the a/c condensor? Any pics? I will join you in the F1 club next week. I want mine to sound like the F22A.

Thanks guys

MonkeyBoneSS- Yes, I am using it on my 347 for now. It is forged, so I figure if I keep the boost to 14psi I'll be okay... until I want more

Urban Legend- actually, I was able to get the hat on the F1 without moving anything around. I was shocked. The hat is touching the shroud, but it fits.

You mean you have a F1 blower and are still able to run the a/c condenser. If so could you post some pics?

That would be awesome. I really dont have much expectation for power. I was thinking it would probably have the same power actually with the same boost? I was thinking the only benefit would be power under the curve. But I guess we'll see here in about a month. The local dyno is moving, so I gotta wait until they get the new shop set up and running. ITs going to be soooo hard babying it around until then!!!!

What bracket are you using? Ever since saw the video of the red SS with an F1/408 my ears perked up a bit.

Na, my 347 is doing just fine with the F1A, head gaskets is what you have to worry about.

The SDCE spaces the blower about a 1/2" closer to the radiator so its a little tighter but the AC can still go on. I had to trim about 3/4" off the bottom of the core support to get the stock hat on plus move the radiator about an inch forward, Problem with the F1/F1A is where the hat attaches its about an inch taller so the hat sticks out quite a bit further then the D1.

I guess that must be why I didn't have to move anything- because I don't have the SDCE. Never had slip issues with just the ATI 8 rib pulleys, so no need for it for me...

KP- do you think I will have head gasket issues with 14psi? I am running the 6.0L MLS gaskets...

whats the biggest pulley and least amount you can boost a f1a to? Boost would vary with displacement right, say a stock cube ls2?
