Default $1700 to get started

Hey guys, just some quick advice from you... I've got $1700 to put into my car and at first I wanted to to do headers and someother stuff, back when I wanted to go the S/C route. Now I changed my mind for a turbo setup, and obviously I don't want headers any more. What would be good to do for now considering I don't want to put the money towards the T/C since that money is coming soon as well. Since my car's an A4 and all, I was thinking gettin a stall, tranny cooler, and an FI cam. Does this sound about right? I know a stall will be great no matter what I do, and I figure an FI cam will give me a gain now as well as a big gain when the turbo(s) go on. So what do you guys think? Should I give it a go? What cam is good for and A4 with turbos? Thanks again for the help guys.

Lingenfelter has their GT2-3 cam on sale right now. It is the cam they run in their twin turbo vettes. It is like 207/220 .571/.578 118.5LSA. I am running that with my powerdyne and it works great. A lot of the guys who are buying it are N/A and they are figuring they won't have to tune because of the wide LSA. Should work fine for both.

mann you just got me totally lost, but I'd say if you dont have more than 5k for a turbo, not including the parts you would need to strenthen, then spend the money you do have on cam, pushrods, headers and opened exhaust, and maybee a 100 dry shot kit, that'll make a big difference

Sorry for the confusion... I don't have the full funds for a turbo at the moment, but will have it very shortly, so I was wondering what to do with the $1700 to get started. I've got two different incomes for it, the rest for the turbo is seperate, the $1700 is a "head-start" I guess you could say. I just wanted to get some stuff done BEFORE the turbos go in. Thanks again.

I would prob. do all the suspesion first (subframes.lca's,drop brakets, and maybe a k-memeber)all those things the car still needs and you can still go with either power adder. the tourque convertor would also be a good idea. just tell them you plan on turbo charging it when you get the converter. A cam would be great to ,but i think there are more places to put the money. The only reason i say this is that my LT-1 car made 524.4 and 668.8 to the ground with stock cam and heads. The pistons will be the weak point,i believe that a turbo will make enough power with a stock cam to out do the strength of the pistons. This is just my two cents, hope it helped ya.

What is the F1 cam?

Stall will make the car come alive.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I think I'm gonna end up just doing a stall with a tranny cooler, and maybe even get the Predator to mess with my shifts and delete TM. I WOULD go with Edit but I need a laptop first
