Break Boost on M6
Break Boost on M6 This kid was telling me when I'm on the side of someone at a roll to hold my break and push the gas but don't gain speed to get the rmps up to boost the motor and then go....
First won't that break or stress something and second where does this power to the sriveshaft go if your not gaining speed?
What do you guys think?

This is "brake boosting" and is a tried and true method of building boost while on the roll. It does nothing detrimental to the car other than wearing out a bit of your brake pad (disclaimer: I don't know if that's true on traction controlled cars).
Holding in more throttle and placing a greater load on the engine by braking allows the turbo to spool, producing more boost at a given speed than you'd have if you were just maintaining the same speed with less throttle (zero boost). Only for turbo cars.

work's very well!! I do it all the time and the car shoot's like a rocket. It just wear's the break's out am lot quicker,that's all! Be carefull though, you can push the brake's to hard and slide the front tire's.
Shoot, I used to use that racing auto cars from a roll. Works like a fricken champ, especially in a car with 4.10's that would take a while to "load" the turbo if running from a 20mph roll. I used to scare people in 2nd gear brake boosting... let off the brakes and it's like a fricken rocket... or was I whould say... =\
