Anyways it sucks but no one was hurt. Im sure Tom and you guys will have the car back up and running soon. Sucks right before the shootout. I worked my *** off just to have motor issues and cant run .
Was it the red vette with the white stripes from shreveport?? That's one of my favorite TT5 cars that come to our races in Houston. Any pic`s of the damage if so??

Damn! Sorry to read this guys! As every one else has already said, the most important thing is that Tom walked away reasonably unharmed. I was really looking forward to seeing the car make some clean passes.

Just out of curiosity, can you even insure a car like that for dragstrip passes?

Not that i know of. Race car insurance will cover in the pits and return road and when the car is on the trailer.. but not down the 1/4....

I'm sure you guys did more than throw some straight body panels on that thing.... I hope all considerations were taken in the name of safety before throwing Tom back in it after taking a shot like it did... best of luck to everyone in Memphis this weekend.

There were 6 of us working on it for a little over 18 hours straight. We did end up getting the car straightened on a chassis torture device. After 4 hours of pulling, everything came around and we were able to start patching all the busted stuff back together. It was not easy, it took a ton of work.

Tom made a nice clean, straight hit yesterday and we're all pretty relieved. We'll give everyone a lot more detail later on.
