Ran 180mph in the standing mile last weekend!
I had a set plan for it before I bought it. I wanted a car that made 500rwhp, and was basically OEM in appearance.
I took the car to MTI, with about 500 miles on it, and they slapped on a ATI D1SC kit, with longtubes, x-pipe, and highflow cats. everythingelse untouched. I ended up with 540-550rwhp, and the car with the hood closed sounds absolutely stock.
At the last minute I pulled it out of the paint shop (the next step in my plans) to run the texas mile. So I didn't have a chance to setup a camera mount that would pass tech. plus after seeing a 180mph bug splat..i'm glad I didn't have the new paint on it
!I had a blast, I ran serveral 179mph runs saturday, and finally bagged my 180mph slip sunday morning. I had alot of people that seemed shocked I was getting the speed out of the car that I did. The car even at the big end sounded stock.
I know there were alot of big boost cars running insane numbers, but I was really pleased with how mine ran. A great kit, and Jason and the guys did a great job with it. Even hooked me up with a pull on the rollers the day before just to make sure everything looked right before we headed out to the race.
I have a few vids but they are huge, and pretty hard to see...not like panning a 1/4 mile strip LOL!
But overall what I meant by stock sounding, is..I have the OEM catback, the motor is stock.
I have 4 vids making passes at the mile filmed from the return road, 3 of them you can't even hear my car over the background noise.
Compared to my old nitrous c5, at WOT it was like the bat signal, calling all cops from the surrounding counties.
