I would go with a 370, iron or alum whatever you can afford. stock crank, compstar rads mahle pistons and some light porting on your 317s. I would also go with a little bigger cam then you have, like a 224 or so. Since this is pretty cheap i would also upgrade to a single plane intake with an elbow. That should be able to max out your D1 and be a damn good combo for a F1. Im running stock everything on my 6.0 (even valve springs!) with just a cam and doing about 570whp at 9.5psi non intercooled.

I've had a blown 346/382/418/429, with a centrifugal bigger is always better because you pick up power down low that the blower cannot provide. Bigger also allows you to run a bigger head unit before hitting the head lift/push water limit. I would definitely go aluminum. Look at what people will do to their cars to shave off 80 lbs.. It has been proven time and time again that the aluminum blocks can go way high in horsepower before any problems occur. As far as traction get M/T drag radials. I run 315's and am able to put all the power to the ground including 1st gear.

650-700rwhp on pump gas I'd run a LS2 aluminum-based stroker and 8.5:1 compression. The cubes will keep the max rpm down, and help you make a lot of power on pump gas. If you ran a small inch motor you'd need to buzz some rpms, which is not a big deal but that might not be how you drive the car. I'd run a big stroker to like 6500-6600, and I'd run a 346ci to like 7100.

I would give Jon @ Fatal Performance a call. He moved over to Conley's Performance Plus building and has everything to make some badass machines Dyno tuning and all.

PM me if you need his #

He has done so far for me.

Bigstuff 3 Install
Custom TH400 swap on my 04 GTO
Turbo Fab work.
G&G is building my 408 and does all of Jon's short blocks.

He has done alot of turbo fab work. Just yesterday they got done tuning a single turbo mustang that put down 714rwhp @ 14.3 psi.

I ended up doing this which is still being assembled;
LS6 block/crank
Mahle -16cc dish pistons 3.903
Eagle rods with ARP 2000 bolts
ARP head studs
Patriot stage 2 heads (64cc)
and all the supporting mods
this is all for a 76mm turbo on street car.

I greatly appreciate all the input fellas...I'm really pushin towards building a 400+ cu. motor all because 700 to 750 HP may not be my stopping point, I have liked some of the recent setups I have research along with many that have been posted here. As stated above more cubes will get the power needed out of alot less PSI, which in return someday down the road can be increased for more power as long as I do a reasonable overkill on internals to handle it. I will start chating with some of the companys listed above and see what kind of setups they recommend...

But by all means any other input you guys have keep it coming. I;m a perfectionist so I can never make immediate decision on stuff like this so I am always up for discussion to persuade mine or someone else's decision.

I put down 615 rwhp at only 5300 rpms with a 348 at only 10 lbs of boost. She puts down 700 by 6200 rpms. You just need to put the combo together with all the right parts. Everything is ported on my engine and I have a efficient turbo kit. Got a nice cam too.
