Mine's fairly mild...low-speed drivability is not the best, but that's probably low compression factoring in too. Majorly ported 243's and a 364-inch LQ9, stock crank.

Comp off-the-shelf grind:

.571/.576, 228/232, 116LSA

Made great power before...we'll see later this week how it does with the new setup.

there seems to be two crowds on turbo cams- The low lsa and the high lsa? duration doesnt seem to be as critical except if its reverse split. ??

comp cams spec'd mine based on my combo, that why I would spend 15.00 for a custom grind...

But until you have done REAL back to back testing with other profiles, you really have no idea whatsoever if it really was ideal for your combo.

There could be a few off the shelf cams, that perform better.

But until you do the testing, or try another cam....you will never know.

if the cam meets your goals for street manners and power, I wouldn't try different cams to see if one maybe alittle better...cam companys spend alot of money and research on programs to take the guessing game out of the equation, so I would use what the tell me...just my thoughts....

I understand where you are coming from....

But the big grinder who specced a cam for me..would have got it horribly wrong for what I wanted.
In fact, a baby cam probably would have got the job done..easily.

Im glad I picked my own...

In fact, something like a GT2-3 probably would have met my performance goals too.

I'm doing a twin T-62 setup, 6.0L iron block (built for turbos), with L92 heads that will have the exhaust ported to help with flow equalization. Looking to push 16-18 psi through a custom sheetmetal intake from TPIS. Help with a cam would be great since someone directs me differently everytime.

I'm running a L-92 block and heads with the cam stated a few post above...good luck with your build there is alot of badass turbo cars on here that can help give you advice....

What type of ECU system are you running with your 418 setup, Mr. Red Beast?
Who handled the tuning on your engine?

I'm running 3 bar map with versafueler for the 96lb injectors....rpm in mooresville, nc tuned....

I would call Stenod and have them work with camotion to make your cam.

whast the advantage to a rever split cam to a large normal split cam for a turbo car. or vise/versa

I've talked to a lot of cam folks over the years, and since I never got any kind of consensus from them about turbo cams I just assume that folks have opinions but a lot of the time the differences won't matter that much.

I'd go with a mid 22x's single pattern for a combo for a street application, like a 224/224 or a 226/226 something like that. You'll make more power than with a stock LS1 or even a Z06 cam.

If you are more focused on racing I'd go with a 234/234 up to a 236/236 again assuming stock cubes. A bigger cam with more duration = more power up high, less power down low, and a higher needed shift point. You will find that some race cars with small cubes will run (assuming hyd) 240/240, 242/242, and even bigger cams but you'd need to buzz some serious rpms and the mid range power on the street might not be there. Car might be pretty laggy. I've love to just try 4-5 cams on the dyno and then pick the best two and run them at the track. I'd love to see what like a 225/225//115 vs a 234/234/113 vs a 242/242//111.
