Garrett Turbo and a Forged 346ci

Garrett Turbo and a Forged 346ci UPDATED! (new turbo) about to order!
I started looking into two turbos, a Garrett GT-42 76T and the Garrett GT-45F 78T. They both iwll have the T-6 housing. The GT-45F 78T is a bit on the pricey side, but if it is better i will find a way to get it. They both support my power needs by about 300hp. I was just wondering which turbo would better in my case. The motor will be a 346ci forged and will need to be street friendly, so i will need to run a nice size WG. Just want some opinions please!

If thats all you want to make i would stay in the t4 arena. Now you are looking at TC76MPS with a .96ar, -750rwhp max, it will hit like a ton of bricks though. A BW S374 will make 850rwhp+ and come in by 3000 and start climbing (thats what it does on the GTO we just finished anyhow, 1.1ar). Or a ST unit from FI. DrTurbo will chime in with some good ideas too.

7 psi on pump gas, 16 psi on race fuel, motor is 418....made 879 on 12 psi, 12 degrees on timing on 93 octane....on 16 psi the dyno couldn't keep up, spun really bad, so I don't know what it can really make....I think 1000 should be within reach...

A GT4276 will be out of steam not much beyond your goals. Even on the 346 i'd wager.
I'd ask if you plan to turn is up eventually, but that's a rhetorical question around here

I still don't understand the logic behind the BW stuff being 'so much better'.... the new turbos from Precision and Turbonetics are awesome....can someone explain why the SXXX's are sooo good?

I would go with a T4 if you want to stay in the hp range your talking about. My T4 kit air to air with a 76mm would do just fine for your 346. Check it out at www.ohioforcedinductions.com

the s and st-series are just really efficient for their packaging.....
for a smaller engine, i'd really recommend a 76gts, or i hear 76mps is along the same lines. i had a 76gts on my 365ci and it spooled and hit like a raped ape. was very happy with that setup

I will make that power on a 4.5L GN engine with high PR's but will not on a LSX V8. The engine chokes way to early due to the small GT42 S-trim turbine.
