Best to wait for the LS8 / LS9?

i'm not sure how other states are with their emissions, but if you move to cali the only legal upgrade you can do is an engine from a TA 01-02. the engine has to be offered to that vehicle within 10 years to be legal and since the TA wont be coming back no LS8 or LS9.
