Default ls4 turbocharging question.

I'm considering turbocharging my impala SS, it has the 5.3l LS4. I want to run around 8-10 pounds of intercooled boost. Does anyone else run boost like that on a stock LS engine? What is safe on a stock LS engine?
thank you
mike

My buddy turboed his ls4 06 monte ss. The engine has about the same stock strength as an ls1 or ls2 as far as boost goes. I wouldn't go past 8 but i guess you could do 10 with some perfect tuning and good fuel. BTW my buddies car made over 400 at the wheels on 8 lbs. Traction becomes a huge issue with the fwd, and the tranny doesn't exactly like to see those power levels.

as long as you have the octane, timing and fuel you should do ok, but there are no guaranties
what is the CR on the ls4?

I'd run 8psi to be safe. Might try 10psi with meth too.
