Rear Mount King what did you pay for yours? And what spec turbo did you opt for? the standard T60?

6.5-8 PSI and roughly 500hp is very respectable. That seems just on par with a D1sc @8psi on a bolt on car or every other stock like car pushin 8psi

Was this on a stock motor w/longtubes?

Somthing Elser I left out of my post..

When i ordered the kit, the guy I spoke with insisted I remove my cats.. He said there something called meltdown.. and piece of the cat can get inside the turbo and mess it up.. So if thats true, and you dont have strict emissions, I would do it too....

I'll second that no cat thing, never heard it called meltdown before. You don't want anything else before an RMT for that matter. If something breaks free there is only one place for it to go.

Very true. About four years ago we worked on a Ferrari 308 that someone had installed a rear mount turbo on. The catalytic converter had done what cats do many times and it's internals had come apart. The turbo had to be replaced as it was really torn up. We see this happen with forced induction cars on our dyno every now and then, as sometimes after a pull we will have catalytic converter debris at the end of the dyno. Bob

What you think is fast is actually slow compared to using manifolds.

yeah... Use stock manifolds, and some people use wrap.. I have no wrap and I like I said Im spooling @ 2900-3000 full boost...

I imagine with wrap that would drop 2600-2700.. Which would be nice.....

alot of issues stem from who installs the kit. Many issues can be avioded and they can be relatively trouble free. We have done well over 50 sts kits and have only had 2 pumps fail. We have cars with the kits on over 3 years and still doing great.
Just as any turbo kit, you must do the supporting mods to make it as safe as possible.
Also, other mods will make the kit perform better. This doesnt mean its for everyone, but it has its place.

trtturbo

has TRT resolved the issue with the obx silicon couplers blowing out under boost?
Or is this a problem that is not as common as it appears?
