Header Flang Size !!
Header Flang Size !! I was about to order my header flanges and the shop asked about the size, I thought all of 243 based casting are the same but the shop told me they are different. I’m planning to get either AFR or ETP 225. So now I was wondering if anyone knows which one of these flanges would work better for those heads. (I tried calling the shops but they are closed till Jan 1st) I wanted to go with 1.88” round but I thought better ask here first.

1 7/8 is 1.88. 1 7/8 is not as common as 1.750 so thats were I would lean more so for cost. 2" would probally be cheaper than either of the two but will take up a lot of room. I am pretty sure that the 1.750 could support over 750 rwhp.
