In either case, it would raise the bar considerably to a level that would be harder to achieve to max it out, which is the whole problem in the first place.

I'll let you know how that meter works out-I'll be dynoing one very soon on a TT C5.

I do like the SD tunes for big power but Nick and I had the same issues with the throttle closing-this required alot "tweaking" by HPT to eliminate that. I had to reduce my VE table by 50% so I wouldn't hit the 2.32 gram/cyl and put the car in reduced power mode. That's fine and I can work around it, while it is a PIA but for customer who doesn't want to mess with the car the MAF i still the way to go.

If this new sensor works, the end user will really benefit.
Your doing the same thing but with the MAF instead of the MAP. Now you just have to rely on the MAF to be right ALL the time and not change.I'd take the chances with the MAP instead.

Sweet! Be sure to post it up here when you do get it on the dyno. I still sometimes think I should have gone with it, as with it being larger it would have been less restrictive than my stock descreened one, and may have netted me more power, not to mention probably be easier to tune.

Either way there is only a certain amount of data that the pcm knows. In all reality, we need a custom OS that allows aftermarket mafs and higher ranges, and or multiple mafs. A twin maf system is ideal due to low range reading and also wot airflow reading as well.

And yes, nothing beats a sd tune for big cam / FI cars, theres a reason most all of the standalones are map based.
Yep, find a way to re-write that table to allow more than GM did & you got something Jake.

Maybe I'll do the power tour this year & swing by your shop & have you SD tune my car while I'm "in the area". I have never had any luck with SD tuning. Every time I get it close I trash the O2s & the tune goes to Hell. Sure would like to use the 2 bar MAP I bought....someday....

I tested the LPE MAF the other night on a TT-it got maxed at 3500 rpm-same as the stock meter.

For now I'm still sticking with MAF tunes until my buddy Crazy Nick convinces me other wise! Up here in Canada the weather swings are pretty severe and so far the MAF tune has kept my car from coming apart!

10.4 with the stock short and 9.6 with a forged 347 lifting all on pump gas says it's working okay for me!
