depends on how well the trans was built , plus as long as u dont run high boost, i think your tranny will last quite a while, make sure u have a trans cooler and probably a good idea to get a trans temp gauge so u can monitor the temp.the main reason i said start saving for tranny too is because we all know that u always want to go faster. Plus forced induction always cost atleast double what u plan to spend. lots of power is the easiest way to find the weak parts in a set up

i think this has been asked before and if i remember correctly most peoples trans temps were 160-180 during normal driving, with temps to about 215 still normal anything above that not sure, but if temps run that high all the time u should be changing fluid often

Alright guys...i picked the car up saturday and lets jus say everyone was right...what a blast. I have a couple questions about it tho. Is the boost only suppose to build up when I'm mving and not when I sit and rev the rpms up? Also, why doesn't boost start buildin gup until quite a bit of throttle is givin instead of right away on even little throttle?

ya like the other guy said you wont have a + boost number till you put enough load on the motor to take it out of vacuum. Unless its such a tiny turbo that it spools instantly, you'll have to put some throttle into it.

Fun suggestion... try brake boosting the car next time you drive it and let me know if it hits any harder , lol.

If you dont know what that is... while your driving lets say at 40 mph give it brake and gas at the same time. Look at your boost gauge and you should notice it go from like -20 to a smaller number like -2 and once you start getting to 0+ or more... thats when you build boost. You can probably get it to 3-5 lbs easily so when you see your boost gauge at that amount of boost, let off the brake and feel her rip!

On the exhaust housing it will have the ar stamped on. I am sure you wouldn't want to send the turbo away to get a smaller wheel anyways.

Like mentioned, 60# injectors and dual walbro's for cost effective and performance, etc

If tranny go's do it right the first time and get a 4l80e conversion and be done. That with 9'' rear you will have a solid setup and be able to make allot of power while less chance of blowing **** up since nothing is guarenteed.

what's your compression ratio? If you got a forged motor built for boost why only 8 psi?

the motor is at 8:1 compression. Its only at 7 ps1 because thats all i can go with the fuel i have. Thats why I will be upgrading it.
