^^^ Probably the best way to find out it to start the car and pull off what you used to seal it off. If it sucks in then there is vacuum and should work.

Partial thread hijack...
I have the Autometer 4477 Boost/Vacuum gauge, with the MAP sensor. The line goes into the charge pipe before the MAF. It shows boost, but never vacuum. Should I relocate it to the brake booster line in order for it to show vacuum also?
