If you are going to spend the money on FI, do it right the first time. Get the rear mounted BS out of your head and do a front mount.

APS is a sponsor and makes a great kit. There are other non sponsors that make better ones for your goals, but it truly depends on where you want to take the car.

What Insight! You know I never thought of it like that! Now that I have been presented with this intriguing and timly argument it all seems clear! Why didnt I think about a front mount over the last TWO YEARS that I have been planning my FI build? Thank you Sir, Thank you

Now in all seriousness why must you be like this? You seem to be the kind of guy that makes many FI poles a painfull place to post. Did it ever occur to you that for some of us the STS is the only legal option to turbocharge our cars? You really think I wouldnt kill to be a ble to run an APS twin? Well I dont have that option. I dont even have an STS yet and I find your comments offensive. Perhaps I am overreacting and if so I apologize to everyone here, however I find the rear-mount discrimination rediculous and unreasonable.

Hey Zmonster, where will you be when you come back from Iraq?

If it's California then God help you, but if it's not you might want to check out a Procharger. If you are set on going turbo and not blower, then ignore my post, but otherwise I wanted to tell you that my '02 with a D-1SC kit not only is street legal here, but my car actually passed a sniffer test and passed it by a mile.

I went to a "friendly shop" just to be safe, but when their computer wouldn't talk to mine, we had to do a sniffer test. The RPM for the test is so low that my car would not go into boost and the exhaust was very clean, not even close to the allowable limits. Ed Wright did a very good tune on the PCM and that plus just keeping the car in excellent running condition means I am free and clear from the enviro *****.

Ya, God help me Im from California. The only street legal turbo that I know of is the STS system and in the EO they say your limited to 6lbs of boost. Im really thinking of moving back to texas, It was nice while I was at Ft. Hood.
I gotta admit that the EPP prochargers have been looking mighty fine, but I cant run long tubes, must have cats, and so on, whereas with a turbo I dont have to change a damn thing.

Buddy has y2k camaro ss with sts kit. He is not lowered. He pretty much is paranoid to only go places he has been.He is really paranoid about speed bumps, railroad tracks.
Definietly you would want to go back to stock height on the sts setup. And I have now had rides and tuned up two sts cars..an lt1 with stock motor and an ls1 with stock motor. Both cars were pretty darn fast even at 5psi. I was impressed .The rear turbos work pretty good. I went front mount as the aps was on at smoking price. You got two turbos and huge intercooler. And aps kit keeps your air. I dont' think its got any problems with ground clearance, have not heard of any but not that many kits are installed yet.I will go back to stock height if need be. Have 3/4 inch firehawk spring drop on my 99ta currently.

The APS twin turbo system has loads of ground clearance................much greater clearance than any rear mounted turbo I've ever seen.

Oh, come on. There are several square inches of real estate under your hood that are not yet filled up, and the heat under there is not quite at fire level, so cram more crap under there. And then rear mount haters will love you and you can be at peace. Or you can move everything around and put a whiny supercharger under there, perhaps deleting the unneeded air conditioner, and carry an extra belt.
Just being cynical, my STS has not had any problems (other than excessive power), but I do not have a lowered car.
Best of luck.

I have had the STS kit since they first came out.The only problem I have experienced is the oiling system. But with a restrictor and a new oilpump It has been fine. For performance stand point look at Longrange4u.He made 700 horse with a mild tune.I am going through the samething a 408 with a t88 rearmount and I will post the outcome when I complete the build.
