I need advice on my new build
Currently I have a bone stock, 2002 camero LS1, t56, 3.54 rear gears, stock PCM. stock camaro fuel pump. I'll be having free flowing exhaust manifolds made to fit the application (headers won't fit)
I'm thinking of using the ATI 5 or 7 PISC kit with twin intercoolers.
Is getting the P1SC shortsighted?, should I upgrade to the DISC straight off? will that work effectively if i use the 5psi pulleys to get me going, before purchasing other upgrades(pump & injectors), or would I be advised to get those straight off??
If I use either kit, what other components should I get? are the components in the stock kit good enough, or should I upgrade or buy other parts straight off (fuel pump, injectors etc)I have read lots of opinion on different injectors & ffuel pumps, for example
I may want to do a H/C change subsequently, so want to build in a little "room to grow" in the ATI unit in terms of performance, but if I go the s/c route that'll have to come later, (at which time I may well drop piston compression &/or use ported LQ4 heads to ease compression.
Who would you recommend to do the porting on these?
This build is from scratch, so I want t build it once - right, (although I don't mind the project coming along in 3/4 stages, I don't want to be buying stuff only to rip it out again in 2/3 months because it can't handle the upgrade
I'd would appreciate any advice on the best components for my application, and appropriate vendor information -
thanks
Steve
get your own pump ,50 lbs injectors and ls1 edit.
get the 8 rib/ bigger crank pulley setup. you can get the 50 lbs injectors as well as a walbro intank pump first, and as you "grow" you can add the aeromotive inline pump and have ls1 edit compensate the injectors to suite your demands.
screw the FMU or the micro tuner ATI sells.
(do they still offer the FMU with their kits?)
