May have bad ring
May have bad ring Car blew out dipstick last night and oil went everywhere. Will compression check it today. I pushed dipstick down and took a ride around the block and hit 3# and felt fine and dipstick did not come back out. I guess there is something wrong.......The motor still runs, idles, and drives fine...

A broken ringland will normally be heard, although we've had them not make a sound at all. Compression test don't always show up a broken ringland either. The good news is that it really doesn't take much for the dipstick to pop up. Let me know what you find out, like I told you on the phone yesterday, I'll bet everything is okay. Bob
