Turbo build...what do people think?
'05 LQ4, stock longblock with LS6 springs and Comp 216/226 112LSA cam
Stock truck intake with ported TB
MSD 6010 Ignition controller, Megasquirt fuel control
BW S400 Turbo
Truck manifolds with 2.5" hot side piping
3" cold side piping, 3" intercooler
3.5" down pipe (reduced from 5" outlet on turbo)
Rest of the drivetrain consists of a built 2004r and I'll be ordering the appropriate boost friendly converter from Yank with somewhere around 3400-3600 stall. I have 3.42s, 3.73s, and 4.10 gears to play around with to put the finish line RPMs where I want them.
So how does this combo sound? Motor is pretty mild but the turbo should do good. I'm looking to stay purely on pump gas right now.
What kind of boost could I safely run? HP Estimates? I'm thinking around 12PSI and I should be able to hit 600-650HP pretty easily. Thoughts?
My fuel will be a new set of injectors (have to size once I figure out what I wanna do). I run an intank Walbro 255 which probably wont cut it. Im guessing I'm gonna end up making a dual intank hanger for it. I run a -08an feed line into the stock rail, and a -06an return off the Corvette style filter/reg unit.
I'd like an honest 525-550 rwhp while keeping the setup alive. Later down the road when I spurge for some forged internals I'll up the boost some. For now, its all pump gas.
