408 redline for my build
Motor is fully forged with that mild gt7 cam and afr 225 wtih 8019 springs.Plan on yella terra rockers, moly pushrods. It won't be the end of the world if had to shift to fifth in the quarter and no idea how much time that would actually cost me but mostly just curious. Anyone running their 408 to 7000 occasionallly and what valvetrain are you running. Is it the valvetrain that is most important or the bottom end or both. I have run my current 346 up to around 6800 or 7000 with no apparent ill effects.Just briefly no sustained running at 7000. And currently just have comp 918 springs ,moly pushrods, stock rockers and mild 221/221/558/558/114lsa on the stock bottom NA 346.
Do you think I would lose more than a tenth or two having to shift to fifth in the quarter? The car is not going to be tracked as soon as hit 11.5 or faster .After that just the odd playing against buddies type of thing. No rollbar for the car in foreseeable future. Have talon race car for track use.
it will not be a dog at all
mine felt stronger off boost with the 403 at 8.25:1 than the 346 at 10.1:1 ever did with the 6 speed and it is full weight +++ I have not took one single thing out in a attempt at weight savings
I am looking at taking the 3.50 out and running a 3.25 or even a 3.00 now that I have the 4L80E because it feels like it is screaming on the freeway now
